2012 LEGISLATIVE SENTIMENT
HONORS HOBBS FUNERAL HOME

A Legislative Sentiment honored the Hobbs Funeral Homes and the Hobbs family for serving their state and local communities for the past 70 years. Introduced by State Representative Jane Eberle, the Sentiment from the 125th Maine Legislature was presented January 10, 2012, to current owner Jeffrey Hobbs by Speaker of the House Robert W. Nutting and Rep. Eberle at a ceremony prior to a legislative session at the State House in Augusta.

Co-sponsors of the honor were Senators Philip Bartlett and Cynthia Dill (Cumberland); Reps. Terry Morrison and Bryan Kaenrath (So. Portland); Reps. Amy Volk and Heather Sirocki (Scarborough).

Representatives Eberle, Sirocki, and Morrison also spoke from the floor of the House on behalf of the Hobbs Funeral Home’s 70th anniversary.

The Sentiment reads, in part, “For the past 70 years, the Hobbs family has been serving the southern Maine community with a locally owned, family-run, independent funeral home. Hobbs Funeral Home was founded by Frank H. Hobbs, Sr. and Elizabeth A. Hobbs in 1941 and is now run by their son Jeffrey R. Hobbs and grandson Jeffrey D. Inman. We extend our congratulations and best wishes to the Hobbs family.“
