Veterans Benefits Assistance

The Hobbs Funeral Home can help the families of veterans with information about veteran eligibility, honors, flags, grave markers and other pertinent subjects. We will also help you coordinate a military funeral ceremony.

Eligibility will normally require the form DD214 (Certificate of Discharge). If you don’t have one, it can be obtained from the
National Personnel Records Center (NPRC)

Honors: a military funeral with an honors ceremony includes the folding and presentation of the United States flag, an honors details of members of the Armed Forces, the playing of Taps, and possibly participation by appropriate local Veterans’ organizations. It is also possible to request a Presidential Memorial Certificate, a parchment recognition signed by the President.
