Alan K. Grondin of Benton passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026 at the age of 72.

Born in Augusta on January 14, 1954, Alan had a very funny sense of humor along with a heart of gold. He had a great love of animals and cared for many during his lifetime. He always enjoyed being outdoors with nature and feeding all the birds in his yard.

Alan was predeceased by his stepdad, Theordore (Ted) Worden. He leaves behind his beloved mother, Jeannine Worden of Scarborough, sister Vicki (Worden) Mann and husband John Mann of Wells, nieces Jessica (Mann) Cary of Gorham and Kelsey (Mann) Marquis and husband Jonathon of Windham, and 4 grand nephews and a grandniece.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the care team at Maine General in Augusta for their kindness and support of Alan and to the Animal Humane Society in Waterville for providing a safe haven for Alan's beloved pets through his illness and for finding them loving homes.

A private graveside burial will be held later in the spring. Online condolences may be made through Hobbs Funeral Home in Scarborough.
