Alban "Brother" Bowens, 61, of Portland Maine passed away April 20th due to recent health related complications.

Born January 21,1962 in St.  Vincent and the Grenadines. Brother will be joining his mother Ruby, and father Vivien, in Gods Kingdom.

He was completely devoted to his family. Leaving behind, his Sister, Joan Joseph of Barbados, Cousin Allison of Brooklyn, NY his other sisters—Miriam, Almina- (with his Niece, Rolita) and Patricia- (with his Niece, Shanette) Also leaving behind a love, Hope Jordan, of Westbrook, ME.

Brother was able to see and hug his close sister Joan a few years ago in Brooklyn after 40 years. Such a wonderful experience and so much love from both of them.

He was extremely passionate about his work, loved masonry and carpentry. He worked with Bondeko Construction for 7 years with longtime close friend and owner, Orson Horchler. Brothers' feisty fiery spirit will be missed by so very many people with who's hearts he's touched over the years. We were all so lucky to have known him, loved him and truly blessed to have him-- love us. Brother enjoyed the simple things in life He loved to be loved. His love for being on the water was undeniable.

Loved music--especially Bob Marley, He loved seafood, loved the salty air in Portland with which he made his home for 19 years. Brother had this infectious laugh, gorgeous smile and… a fuse that once was lit…. oh boy you knew it.

His heart was most definitely filled with the moments he enjoyed throughout his life here. He has a lot of firsts —while he was in Maine with us. Grateful for being able to share those with him It was an absolute pleasure to be able to have these joyous times.

Brother loved us all.

Generous, kind, willing to help anyone, so funny, and fun, and of course, he was always right.    You will be so missed.
