South Portland – Alice Sanders, 100, of Kirkland Ave in South Portland sadly passed away on March 10, 2023 at Birchwood at Canco, an assisted-living facility. She would have been 101 the next day. We are all so blessed to have been a part of her life and to have shared so many loving moments together for so long.

Alice was the youngest of nine siblings. She was born on March 11, 1922 in Portland to Peter and Wilhelmina Selberg.

Alice enjoyed dancing throughout her life with her husband and her close friends Red and Ellen Grave and Bea and Mark Moschetto. I'll always remember the happy days spent at Higgins Beach as a young child. Throughout her life, she adored getting together with her grandchildren and looked forward to their visits.

Mom would light up when she heard of going to Len Libby's or a sight seeing ride to Ferry Beach and especially having a fish dinner with family at the Clambake.

She was predeceased by Edward P. Kinney and Herbert L. Sanders. Surviving are her son Gary Kinney and daughter-in-law Carlene, four grandchildren, April, Daryn, Autumn and Brandon as well as four great-grandchildren; Tiana, Jude, Shay and Silas.

A graveside service will be held on Forest City Cemetery in South Portland on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the South Portland V.F.W.
