Obituary

Alice Vose McPeck Sewall of Cape Elizabeth, ME passed away at home on August 19th, 2023 after a long illness.

Alice was born May 1, 1936 in Providence, R.I., to Alice and Maurice McPeck. She spent her early years in Rhode Island where she met her husband, Edgar K. Sewall . Alice graduated from Nelson W. Aldrich HS Class of 54 in Lakewood, RI. Alice completed her associate degree at Cathryn Gibbs school in Rhode Island. She spent her career in banking, rising to VP trust department at Society for Savings Bank in Hartford Connecticut.

Alice and Ed were married on May 24th, 1958 in Providence Rhode Island. Alice and Ed raised their family in South Windsor, Connecticut with their sons Ed, John and Doug. Alice enjoyed year-round activities with her family that included tennis, skiing, sailing and spending summers at their cottage on Cape Cod.

In retirement, Alice and Ed moved to Bluffton, South Carolina where they remained active spending their days playing golf, tennis and spending time with friends and of course, their beloved Schnauzers. Alice was an avid reader, loved going on cruises and playing bridge with her friends. She was a caring and gentle lady and who will truly be missed by all that knew her.

Alice is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Robert McPeck of Jackson Heights New York.

Alice is survived by her husband Edgar K. Sewall of Cape Elizabeth, sister In-Law Marcia Sewall of Brunswick Maine, Son Edgar K. Sewall III and wife Kelly of Snoqualmie Pass Washington, John O. Sewall and wife Leslie of Cape Elizabeth, his twin brother Douglas S. Sewall and wife Sherri, of Dayton, Ohio and niece Violetta Cattorwitti-McPeck of Milan, Italy. Alice has 6 grandchildren, Zoey Sewall, Edgar Sewall IV of Everett Washington, Erin E. Sewall and Douglas R. Sewall of Cape Elizabeth, Lindsey W. Sewall and Emily W. Sewall of Dayton, Ohio.

The family wants to thank all the in home care givers that provided support to Alice during the past few years , your love and care for Alice will always be remembered and cherished.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
