Cape Elizabeth – Allan James Adams, Jr., 78, of Cape Elizabeth died on October 1, 2022.

Allan was born August 28, 1944, the son of Allan and Gwendolyn (Tibbetts) Adams. He grew up in South Portland and graduated from South Portland High School. He and his wife, Carolyn, raised their family in Cape Elizabeth. Allan made his living as a truck driver, choosing to work for local companies so he could spend more time with his family.

With the help of good friends and family, Allan built a camp in Rangely, and this became the place he most loved to be during weekends and vacations. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, fishing and doing projects around his beloved camp. He loved snowplowing for his neighbors. During a nor'easter he would be out morning, noon and night making sure their driveways were clear.

Allan leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Buck Adams; daughter Vanessa Adams; son Jeffery Adams and his wife Sarah; four grandchildren, Elijah Bliss, Nathaniel Bliss, Elizabeth Adams and Christopher Adams; a great-granddaughter, Daisy Bliss; a sister, Ann Lewis; sister-in-law Brenda Cushman; nephews Mark and Greg Cushman and their families and niece Stacie Archibald and her family. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Robert Cushman and niece Ronda Cushman.

A private service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please enjoy time outside with your family and friends.
