Obituary

Anthony R. Levesque was born on December 8th, 1941 in Topsham, Maine. His parents were Antoine and Marie Louise. His parents both passed at an early age. His father Antoine at age 36 and his mother at age 40. That did not deter this man to live an incredible life that would follow. At the age of 18-19, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served two years active along with four more years in the Reserves . During that time in the Navy he studied Radiology. At the end of his term in the Navy, he took a job at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine where he met and helped back to health-Donna Hodges. They would come to marry on July 1st of 1967. He would bring up two kids over the years, along with working in X-Ray and Radiology at Mercy Hospital. He became a great umpire in the baseball and softball communities of Cumberland County during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. He passed away on August 22, 2026.

Donna Hodges Levesque was born on September 5th 1944 in Phillips, Maine. Her parents were Donald and Iola Hodges. Donna's father passed away when she was only four. Her mother Iola lived on to bring up her with her four brothers and sisters and her husband Donald's brother at the Old School House on the No. 6 Road in Phillips. After graduating High school she came down to Portland to attend school for nursing, when she was in a bad accident and was in a halo-bed for many months. Enter Anthony R. Levesque. He took so well care of her that they would come to marry on July 1st, 1967. Donna went on to become an amazing woman and mother. She passed on October 15th of 2023.

They are survived by Gregory Levesque of Cape Elizabeth, Jeannine McCarthy of Westbrook, as well as four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
