Barbara Ann Gochie-Lefebvre passed peacefully among loved ones on January 12th 2024 at Hospice of Southern Maine. Barbara was born in Portland, ME at Mercy Hospital on March 9th 1944. Daughter of Florence and Raymond Smith Sr., she attended Scarborough School. Barbara had many short term jobs while raising her three children but found her long term career at Hannaford Brothers Warehouse in receiving admin. She worked for Hannaford off and on for many years from 1983-2010.
Throughout her life, she and her husband Ronald E. Gochie traveled throughout the country but their favorite place to spend time was in the Arizona sun. The two moved home permanently for some time to spend time with their grandchildren. It was not until after Ronald passed in 2009 that she began to find her love for travel once again. In the years after his passing she traveled with friends to and from Florida during the winter months. Eventually, Barbara was lucky enough to find love and companionship in John "Butch" Lefebvre who became her travel companion. The two were married in 2016. They loved to ride their motorcycle together and spent lots of time exploring. In 2019 he passed peacefully among their many loved ones.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents Florence and Raymond Smith, first husband Ronald E. Gochie, son Ronald "Scott" Gochie, and sister Sandra Darling.
Survived by her Brother Raymond Smith and wife Jaye Ann Smith, Sister Linda Smith. Also survived by Son Jerry Gochie and wife Sue Gochie, daughter Holly Beaulieu and husband Kelly Beaulieu. Stepchildren Todd and wife Mia Lefebvre, Jennifer Lefebvre, Craig and wife Tonja Lefebvre. Not listed include many loved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Barbara's services will be held at Hobbs funeral home in Scarborough on Friday January 19th. Visiting hours will be from the hours of 1-3 pm, service at 3 pm. Reception will also be held at Hobbs shortly after the service. Flowers may be sent to Hobbs Funeral home 671 US-1 Scarborough, ME 04074.
