Bernice (Bunny) Silvia Roberts, 84, of Gorham, Maine, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, at Maine Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Brewer, Maine on December 29, 1941, to Albert and Grace (Briggs) Parker, Bernice was a proud graduate of the Patten Academy Class of 1960. While attending classes, she enjoyed picking potatoes in the fields alongside family and friends. Following high school, she attended the Golden School of Beauty Culture in Portland, Maine before marrying her love, Donald Roberts. More recently, she worked at the Gorham House where she was a house keeper and enjoyed being around the residents.
Bernice's true calling was her family. As a dedicated homemaker, she poured her heart into raising her four sons. Beyond her family, Bernice had a deep, gentle connection with nature. She was a friend to all creatures, often found tending to the squirrels, chipmunks, and birds in her yard, and she shared an inseparable bond with her beloved dog, Brandy.
She is survived by her brother Frederick and his wife Harriet; her sons and their wives, Donald and RoseMarie, Randall, Richard's wife Erica, and Russell and Samantha; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica and Jason, Corey and Jennifer, Amanda and Joshua, and Debbie; her great-grandchildren, Kamren, Adrianna, Johanna, Aiden, Madison, Lilly, David, and Declan; and her beloved dog Brandy. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald, her son Richard, and her dogs Lady, Honey and Casey.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 11:00a.m. at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland.
