Obituary

Born April 1, 1945, in Portland, Maine, Beverly Ann MacDonald Dolloff (age 81) was the

only child of William (Bill) and Doris Richard MacDonald. The family resided in Portland,

Maine for most of Beverly’s life. She became the head majorette at Portland High School,

leading the marching band out onto the field for the famous Portland v Deering football

game. After graduating from Portland High School (Class of 1963), Beverly worked for the

telephone company entering punch cards into computers. But soon found mothering &

marriage as her focus. She was married to David K. Dolloff until her death, and gave birth to

3 daughters, Lisa, Lori, & Sara. Beverly ran her own in-home daycare during the 1980s, then

started a career at Scarborough Jr, then Sr High School serving in the school lunch

program. There she fed, mentored, and guided many more children. Beverly lived in

Scarborough, but ended her working life employed by Martin’s Point, entering information

into databases. Dementia began taking her in 2015. In 2018, she moved into the Baron’s

Center for full-time dementia care, where she lived until her death on October 18, 2026.

A heart for service and children. Beverly was the steady hand a child could reach for. An

attentive, engaged “Grammie”, Beverly is remembered for reading stories while rocking,

being at soccer games, horse shows, daycare pickup, standing knee-deep in lakes

overseeing little swimmers, endless hours coloring, and caring for her 8 grandchildren.

Always a dutiful daughter, faithful wife, and great baton twirler, Beverly was very present,

always, for her grandchildren.

Beverly is survived by her husband of 53 years, David; her, daughters Lisa Cooper with

husband, Kevin; Lori Flaherty; and Sara Mann with husband, Scott; grandchildren Calvin,

Simon, & Samantha, Paige & Faith, Davis, Harper, & Elliott; and great-granddaughter,

Oakley. We pray Beverly is finally at peace.
