Obituary

Brenda Jane Bornheimer, age 64, of Sun City Arizona, died September 13 th , 2022. Brenda was born in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Kenneth and Marlene Bornheimer. Proudly a member of the Scarborough community, Brenda graduated Scarborough High School in 1978, where she met her then high school sweetheart, now lifelong friend, and father of her two daughters, Tom Leonard Jr.

Brenda had a long career at Maine Health prior to following her dream of working with animals. She studied Marine Biology and Life Sciences at Southern Maine Community College and became a Certified Scuba Diver. These experiences allowed her to find her life's work as an assistant Zookeeper at the Wildlife Zoo and Aquarium in Litchfield Park, Arizona, where she was adored by her co-workers and animals.

Small but fiery, Brenda was commonly known for her love of the ocean, Rock 'n' Roll (Aerosmith), black olive & mushroom pizza, being an extreme Boston sports fan (Go Bruins!) and her infectious laugh. She was a certified Reiki Master, healer and was passionate about holistic health.

She is pre-deceased by her birthday buddy and "partner in crime", Brenda Beaulieu; mother in law, Marion Clarke and her beloved mother and forever beach partner, Marlene Bornheimer.

She is survived by her father, Kenneth Bornheimer of Scarborough; her partner, Steve Miller of Peoria, Arizona; her daughters Nicole Talbot and her husband, Matt Talbot of Lincolnville and Lindsay Leonard and her partner, Jon Cail of Westbrook; grandchildren Mikayla, Jacob, Tyson, and Rue; her brother, Robert Bornheimer of Scarborough; and her niece, Rachael Bornheimer of Dover, New Hampshire.
