Obituary

Carol Tosi Arnaud

1939-2026

Carol Tosi Arnaud died peacefully on July 25, 2026, in Scarborough, Maine.

Carol grew up in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and graduated from Trinity (DC) in 1961 with a degree in art and literature. After college, she was an editor for a McGraw-Hill business weekly and a Wall Street analyst for Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette, and then spent two wonderful and fondly remembered years on the resident staff of the Salzburg Global Seminar. Returning to the workforce after children, she worked on the business side of architecture firms in New England, STUDIOS Architecture in San Francisco, Robert A. M. Stern Architects in NYC, and Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and Union of Concerned Scientists in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

She loved all aspects of drawing and painting, her “sweet torture.” She was a voracious reader, vivid writer, life-long student, community volunteer, and quick wit. She remained proud that she never once used an email emoji.

She was predeceased by both parents and two sisters, and is survived by her three children, five grandchildren, beloved brother, and many cherished family and dear friends.

Her favorite nonprofits are Salzburg Global Seminar and Partners for World Health of Portland, Maine.
