Carol Pape, 91, passed away on May 22, 2025, after a period of declining health. Carol was born in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of Milton and Katherine Redlich.  She passed her early years in Brooklyn and after graduation from Midwood High School went on with a career as an executive secretary with F.I. Dupont.  While on vacation in Lake Sunnapee, New Hampshire she met William Pape of Staten Island, N.Y. and after a courtship they married on June 29,1963.

With her husband they moved to Staten Island a raised a family.  As such, Carol was an active leader in Girl Scouts and an able assistant in all phases of Church work and services.  Her interests in Staten Island history fostered an active membership in the Staten Island Historical Society.

Carol loved to travel and arranged a few of the trips that were of interest to both she and her husband.  Carol was a busy and dedicated homemaker fully committed to the time passing tasks of raising a family.

In 1991, with the next chapter of her life upon her Carol and her husband moved to Maine, "The Way Life Should Be" and never looked back!  Carol enjoyed life in Scarborough and participated in the Church, Garden Club, Red Hat Society and Friends of the Library.  Carol was also an active member of The Eastern Star both in Staten Island and Maine, along with various other organizations.

Our family is deeply saddened by Carol's passing.  That family consists of Wendy VanName, Karen Carubis and William Pape III. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, namely Anthony, Jacqueline, Alexandra, Edward, Serena, Andrew and Joseph, along with her beloved husband, William Pape.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a funeral service at 12 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough.  Following the service, a reception will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by burial at Black Point Cemetery, Scarborough.
