Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Victor Cerny
Scarborough, Maine

Charles "Chuck" Victor Cerny, of Scarborough, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 28, 2024, after a long battle with heart failure, kidney failure, and cancer.

Chuck was a man of integrity and curiosity. Known for his warm and outgoing nature, he formed lasting connections with people everywhere he went, whether at Hannaford or Sam's Club, where he was on a first-name basis with the employees and knew about their families.

A natural giver, Chuck enjoyed baking and generously sharing his homemade goods with neighbors, friends, doctors' offices, and local businesses. His thoughtfulness and care for others left an indelible mark on those who knew him.

Professionally, Chuck was a teacher and a marketing and sales expert. Alongside his beloved wife, Nancy, he owned and operated a successful catering company in Maine for 21 years.

Chuck was predeceased by his father, Robert; his mother, Victoria; and his brother, Alan. He is survived by his sisters, Joyce, Bernadine, and Pam; his loving wife of more than 40 years, Nancy; his two stepdaughters, Jennifer and Bethany; his son-in-law, Anh; and their children, Chloe and her husband, Dev, Liam and his wife, Madi, and great-granddaughter, Jericho.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held on Friday, October 4, at 10:00 AM at his home in Scarborough. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering and honoring his life.
