SCARBOROUGH—Christina "Chrissy" L. Wedgewood, 50, of South Portland, passed away on August 19, 2023, while surrounded by her loving family at Gosnell Hospice House. She was born in Portland, ME on June 26, 1973, daughter to Roger and Rita (Higgins) Wedgewood.

Chrissy received her education through the South Portland school department as well as Southern Maine Community College. She worked as a House Manager for Goodwill Northern New England.

A loving mother, a prankster sister, a passionate caregiver - Chrissy lived with purpose, loved with intensity and never knew a stranger. She enjoyed the simple things in life and found great pleasure sharing time with those she loved. From camping, sunflowers and Sunday football, time was currency and wasn't considered "well spent" unless it was with family and friends. With her contagious energy, welcoming spirit and heart of gold, she embodied true and unconditional love and acceptance.

They say the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long. Chrissy will be remembered by her friends, family and coworkers for how brightly she shined, how selflessly she gave as well as her unwavering support. She will be deeply missed by those blessed to have known her.

Chrissy is survived by her sons, Andrew and Sean Kenny; her parents, Roger and Rita Wedgewood; her sisters, Laurie Mitchell and Alicia Wedewood; and her partner, Mark Matton.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday, September 1, 2023 at Hobbs Funeral Home 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.
