YARMOUTH - Chris was born on May 6, 1971, in Laconia, New Hampshire, the son of Kenneth L. Swormstedt and Carolyn E. Knowles.
He graduated from Cheverus High School in 1990. He would want to be sure everyone knows that during his junior and senior years he held the State record for the 50 yard dash.
Shortly after leaving the Army, he began his life career as a commercial fisherman. This is something he was very proud of. He was part of a whole community of fisherman.
His infectious humor will be remembered forever. Whether he was roasting family members, or making fun of songs and movies, he would always make you laugh. Given his choice of a last meal he would want Chinese food. After his son Wylie was born, Chris would love to share his pride in being his father. He would remember trips to Great Wolfe Lodge. In recent years, he would share Wylie's basketball skills, of course claiming they came from him being a "great player when he was young!"
He is predeceased by his father, Kenneth L. Swormstedt, and his brothers, Kenneth E. Swormstedt and Scott Swormstedt.
Chris is survived by his partner, Pamela Foster; son, Wylie Swormstedt; mother, Carolyn E. Knowles; brother, Mark Johnson; sister, Laurie Moulton; brother-in-law, Nick Moulton. Other family members include his nieces, Tiffany Dyer, Maria Little and husband Alex Kinner, Marcie Johnson, Michelle Bailey; nephews, Nikolas Swormstedt; Vinnie, Andrew, Nicholas, and Anthony Moulton; aunt Pheobe Laughlin; cousins, William and David Johnson. He also has extended family, cousins, aunts, and uncles in Laconia New Hampshire. Chris would also want to acknowledge his love and appreciation for Mary Campbell.
