Scarborough - Clifford (Kip) J Knight, 81 years old, passed away August 14, 2024, at Maine Medical Center under Hospice Care. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.

Kip was born March 18, 1943 in Portland, Maine. His parents were Helen(Mansise) Knight and Chester Clifford Knight. He attended Portland schools through the sixth grade. At that time, he helped his Father move 4 floors of antiques and used furniture from Knights Used Furniture and Antiques from Portland to Dunstan Corner in Scarborough in 1955 where he continued to work for his parents until his high school years . Then he went to work for L.R. Higgins Paving until his graduation from Scarborough High School in 1961.He attended the University of Maine in Portland, graduating in 1966 with a degree in Business Administration. He then went to work at S.D. Warren as a computer programmer.

In 1969, he married Rachelle Breton. They had two sons, Clifford (CJ) and Andrew E. Kip was a member of the Scarborough Lions Club and Volunteer for the Scarborough Rescue.

He left S.D.Warren in the early 70s to become an outside salesman for International Paper Company where he serviced New England making fast friends with fellow employees and customers until his retirement at 58 years old. He then had a part time job for several years for Critical Care delivering medications to patients at home in Maine.

Kip enjoyed skiing, boating ,canoeing, camping with his family and friends, riding ATVs with his sons, golfing, and spending time with his family and many friends . He loved cars and especially enjoyed his 1988 yellow Pontiac Fiero, which he sadly sold shortly before his passing because he knew he could no longer drive it.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rachelle, his sons, CJ and Andy, his beloved grandson Evan W. Knight, many nieces, nephews and his many cousins. He was pre deceased by his parents.
