Corinne E. MacLean (Oliver) "Grams", 88, passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2025, at her home, while listening to her granddaughter-in-law sing, "You are my sunshine".

Corinne was born to Bessie (Whitney) Oliver and Harold Oliver on February 9, 1937. She was the youngest of two daughters.

Corinne met the love of her life, Raymond A. MacLean, when she was 15 years old and he was 18 years old. They married soon after they met in Ferry Village and had two sons, Douglas A. MacLean Sr. in April of 1953 and then  Russell A. MacLean in March of 1955. They were married for over 60 years and lived in South Portland all of their lives, and they were both so proud to be lifelong, South Portland residents.

For 40 years Corinne worked in the insurance industry.  She started at Maine Bonding and Casualty, and then at Arcadia insurance. She was 58 years young when she retired. After retirement, Corrine focused on her family and friends. She loved being with all of them as much as possible. Grams always had the best hugs and her smiles could light up a room.

Grams loved animals! You could find her every day feeding the ducks that lived in her backyard, and when she couldn't do it anymore she made sure whoever was at the house with her would throw out some bird seed for the ducks. She also always had treats for her four legged furry friends that came to visit her often.

She is predeceased by her husband Raymond A. MacLean, her oldest son, Douglas A. MacLean Sr.,  her youngest son, Russell A. MacLean, and her grandson, Craig A. MacLean. We know Grams is at peace now that she is with her loved ones, once again.

She is survived by her grandson, Douglas A. MacLean Jr., and his wife Ann Marie MacLean (Annie).

It has been Doug and Annie's greatest honor for the last 7 years to ensure that all of Grams wants and needs have been met with patience and compassion. Her final wish was to die at her house, and in her own bed, on her terms.

Doug and Annie would like to thank the Southern Maine Agency of Aging for everything they did. Their staff was very helpful and compassionate at all times.  Their efforts to make sure Grams was comfortable in her final days was greatly appreciated. You all will forever be in our hearts.

Doug and Annie would also like to thank Stephanie from Comfort Keepers.  She started as a helper and now she is like family.  Grams loved you so much, and she loved the time you two spent together every week.  Thank you for everything you did for Grams.  You are a true Angel on earth.  We love you.

Visiting hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.  A graveside service will follow at Forest City Cemetery in South Portland.
