Courtney O'Toole, 1985 - 2024, of Portland passed peacefully Thursday evening February 8 at the Maine Medical Center. Courtney was born June 12, 1985 in Brunswick. This loss has crushed both friends and family alike.

Courtney was extraordinary. She is remembered for her outgoing personality and spunkiness. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed working in kitchens. She was a helper and liked to take care of others. She helped to care for both her Mother and Nana for several months before each of their passing. Friends describe Courtney as strong and brilliant and a beautiful force of nature.

Courtney loved cats. As a child she collected PEZ dispensers and Beanie Babies and over the years she acquired much Scooby-Doo and Simpsons merch. Her siblings recall hours-long snow day Monopoly games, MTV dance parties in the living-room, birthday parties in the backyard, building snow forts in the yard, walks through the paths around the Androscoggin River and searching for salamanders, watching the Blue Angels from the rooftop, family dinners at Captain Mike's, and Thanksgiving celebrations at the Samoset. They especially enjoyed the times they shared at the Topsham Fair and going out for Karaoke.

Courtney is predeceased by her mom, Zoe Rote. She is survived by her fiance, Timothy Bartlett, six older siblings, and several nieces and nephews.
