Dianne L. Mayo, age 61, of Scarborough, Maine, passed away on September 17, 2024. Born on June 19, 1963, Dianne was known for her kindness and intelligence—qualities that defined her both personally and professionally.

Dianne began her educational journey in the Kennebunk School District, graduating from Kennebunk High School. She continued her studies at Tufts University, which paved the way for a notable career in education and communications. Dianne dedicated many years to teaching at York County Community College and Andover College, where she left a lasting impact on her students. Before transitioning to education, she worked at Time Warner Cable. Her career was cut short due to early retirement prompted by health concerns.

In her personal life, Dianne was an avid reader, a skilled cross-stitch artist, and a passionate cook, often delighting family and friends with her culinary creations.

Dianne was predeceased by her parents, Dana and Esther Mayo, and her siblings, Nathalie Schildroth, Dana Mayo, and Robert Mayo. She is survived by her brother, F. Clark Mayo, and sisters, Valerie Lizotte and Geraldine Davis.

A funeral mass in Dianne's memory will be held at St. Martha's Church in Kennebunk, Maine, on November 14th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dianne's memory to The American Kidney Fund or The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, Maine, reflecting her love for animals and her battle with kidney disease.
