Donna Louise McNamara

1932 – 2025

PORTLAND – Donna Louise McNamara, 93, of Portland, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

She was born in Brewer, Maine, on February 5, 1932, the daughter of Arthur and Olive (Houston) Andrews.

Donna graduated from Bangor High School in 1950.  She married James Neil McNamara on September 4, 1950, who predeceased her in 2005.

She is predeceased by her brother, Richard and is survived by daughter Debra Tracy and her husband Bill, and daughter Kim McNamara; grandsons, James Tracy, and Joshua Tracy and his wife Tam; granddaughter, Sorya Sferes.

Donna owned and operated her hair salon for 25 years.  She retired with her husband to Florida in 1985, living in Vero Beach winters.  She worked with her husband for seven summers at Lucerne beach club.  While in Florida, Donna volunteered for hospital Aux., and Dodger Town spring training selling their wares.  She was a Life member and Past Matron of Millwee Chapter 198, Orrington, Maine and a Past Grand Ruth of the Grand Chapter of Maine.

Her pastimes included knitting, counted cross stitch, Golf and getting a hole in one, what a thrill, and Bingo.  Donna and her husband and soul mate, James, enjoyed many cruises, casinos and dancing parties while in Vero Beach.

She had been making her home at The Park Danforth, senior living in Maine.

There will be no services.  Burial will be at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
