Dorothy Arsenault, age 90, of Scarborough, Maine, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2026, at Scarborough Terrace.
Dorothy was born on July 1, 1936, in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Charles and Amelia Bean. She had two younger brothers, John and Larry. She grew up in South Portland and attended South Portland schools. She held various jobs throughout her life. One of her favorites was working for Country Kitchen, where she met a lot of nice people.
Dorothy really enjoyed walking, dancing and had a compassion for music.
She is survived by her three children: daughter Debbie Carter, son Bruce Carter and his wife Cindy, and daughter Louann Callahan. Grandchildren: Lisa Barrett, Timothy John Carter, Bruce Carter and his wife Janelle, Paul Callahan and his partner Vanessa, Ryan Callahan, and a step grandson Brent Berube. Great grandchildren: Tyler LaPlante, Bryson Carter, Adeline Carter, Emma Callahan, and a step great granddaughter Ana Berube.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and two brothers and her grandson Timothy John Carter.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Scarborough Terrace and to Compassus Hospice of Scarborough, Maine, for the wonderful care that she received.
Dorothy will be loved forever and greatly missed by all who knew her.
