Douglas Austin Knight, 45, of Scarborough, Maine, died October 8, 2026, succumbing to illnesses he dealt with throughout his life. Born on December 27, 1980, in Nashua, N.H., he was the beloved son of John and Meredith Knight.

He is survived by his parents, his sister, Noelle Knight, and her husband, Jonathan Madara; and his nephew and niece, Daniel and Emily Madara. He was predeceased by his sister, Jocelyn "Joy" Knight.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 20, at noon at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, ME 04074. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m.

For those who would prefer to make a memorial donation in lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts to the American Diabetes Association or to New England Donor Services (60 First Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451), which coordinates organ and tissue donation across New England. Douglas gave the gift of life, and others may honor him by supporting that work.
