Scarborough, ME- Edna Marie (Wilbur) Smith, 92, of Scarborough, passed on March 5, 2023 at Springbrook Center in Westbrook.

She was born on June 26, 1930 the daughter of Melvin and Mildred (French) Wilbur in their family home in Scarborough, where she lived most of her life.

She met and married Allen V. Smith in 1954 at a Mexican hat dance and they shared 56 wonderful years together; until his death in 2010.

Mrs. Smith was employed at Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years. After retirement she and Allen joined a motorcycle club and travelled all over the country in their motorhome on many great adventures.

Edna loved her family and all of her dogs with her whole heart.

She was predeceased by her husband, Allen V. Smith Sr. her son Allen V. Smith Jr., her parents, and sisters Ruth Warming and Viola Dyer.

Surviving are her daughter Sally A. (Smith) Petit and her husband, Robert (Scarborough, ME); Grandsons Robert J. Petit III his wife Erika (North Little Rock, AR), Jeffrey A. Petit and his wife Lisa (Saco, ME), six great grandsons, Sullivan, Alexander, Cooper, Callaghan, Theodore, and Elliot. (She is still waiting on a grand daughter). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday March 10, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 3p.m. with a service immediately following at 3 p.m. at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 US Route 1 in Scarborough.
