Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Darling, 78, GRAY, passed away on September 22, 2023 surrounded by family at Sedgewood Commons in Falmouth. Betty was born in Portland on January 1st, 1945 to Rowland and Mary Freeman. Betty went to South Portland High School.

She was married to Raymond Edward Darling jr for over 40 years. She worked as Lead Housekeeper at Saint Joseph's Manor in Portland for many years before retiring in 2008. Betty enjoyed dancing, singing, camping and spending time with her family.

Betty is predeceased by her husband Raymond Darling jr, her parents Rowland and Mary Freeman, and her brother Rowland Freeman jr.

Betty is survived by her children Melissa Mckenney, Andrew Darling, Bryna Misiura and Rebecca Powell. Betty is also survived by her sister Ellen Beaupre, 7 granddaughters Krystal, Katherine, Samantha, Sarah, Jenna, Isabella, Becca and 11 great grandchildren.

A public visitation will be held at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road in South Portland on September 29th at 11 am followed by a service at 12pm. A graveside service will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park. There will be a gathering at the First Congregational Church on Cottage Road in South Portland from 2pm to 6pm to celebrate Betty's life.
