Hazel J. Estey, 91, of South Portland passed away on November 12, 2023.

Hazel enjoyed skiing and boating in her younger years.  She loved riding and looking for beautiful plants along the roadsides and sandpits with Ron to transplant back at camp. She loved her two cats bringing them all the way to camp every summer. She and Ron enjoyed their antiquing all over Maine. She loved cookie jars and collected quite a few; but not a cookie to be found in any. She was an avid reader, having read hundreds of books. She was a "BETTY CROCKER" in her own right making the best cookies.

She was predeceased by her parents Melissa (Tingley) Perkins, and Charles Perkins and her husband of 71 years Ronald B. Estey.  She is survived by her two sons, Ronald B. Estey Jr. and wife Donna of Auburn, Me. and Kenneth C. Estey of So. Berwick, Me. and his fiancee' Anne Marie Persak as well as two grandchildren Elizabeth Estey and Andrew Estey.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland. The funeral service will be followed by burial at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street in Portland at 2:30 p.m.
