Scarborough - Herman Jalbert 90, of South Portland passed away on December 5, 2023, in Scarborough.  Herman was born in Caribou to Narsisse Jalbert and Odille Theriault Jalbert on May 20, 1933. He married Claudia May Beckwith on May 5, 1956, in Portland.

Herman worked as a carpenter and then worked for the South Portland Housing Authority.  He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict where he served in the Marines.  He was involved in a Radio-Controlled Boat Club. Herman enjoyed camping, rides to New Hampshire, model building and puzzles.

Herman is predeceased by his wife Claudia and son-in-law Ronald Sawyer.

Survivors include daughter Theresa Jalbert Sawyer, son Robert S. Jalbert and his wife Cheryl Jalbert, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Services were private.  Arrangements are under the guidance of Hobbs Funeral Home 230 Cottage Road South Portland, Maine 04106.
