Howland E (Bob) Barth, 82, of Scarborough, Maine, passed away March 18, 2026 at the Gosnell Hospice House. Bob was born on August 10, 1942 in Newburyport, MA. After graduating from Newburyport High School, he joined the United States Coast Guard stationed in Portland aboard the cutter Coos Bay. Upon discharge he went to work for Marine Repairs and then Industrial Welding as shop foreman. He was a former member of the Scarborough Fire Department and was a lieutenant on Engine 6 at Dunstan Station. Bob enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons and grandsons. He also enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting events and go-kart racing, and later stock car racing with Spencer and Nate. He also enjoyed going to Venice, Florida with Pat in the winter. Bob and Pat have been married for 63 years.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, sons John and Laura of Old Orchard Beach, Daniel and Colleen of Arundel, Robert and Jami of Buxton, Maine. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kevin, Alicia Harmon and Zeke, Joseph and Kristen, Spencer and Taylor and Nathan Barth and three great grandchildren, John and Jillian Harmon and Evelyn Barth. Their pup sure loved them all, and he will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his three brothers.
Funeral Services will be private at a later date.
