Irvine was born in Springvale Maine in her grandmother's home in January of 1919.  She was the daughter of Aimee I. (Welch) Sanders and Joseph A. Sanders, and the granddaughter of Cora Bennet and Peter Whipple and Mary Frances and James Sanders.

She attended grade school in Springvale and Kittery Maine, as well as San Pedro California.  She graduated from high school in Sanford Maine in 1937.

After graduation she was recruited and employed by N.E. Tel and Tel from 1937 to 1941 and then part time. After her marriage she moved to Salem Massachusetts and later returned to Maine in 1945 to make a home in Acton Maine with her husband and two small children.  The family relocated to Winslow Maine in 1955 where she was employed by Colby College for 25 years working in the Treasurer's Office and then in their switchboard and security position.  After she and Raymond retired, they moved to the family home on Square Pond in Shapleigh Maine and then wintered at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park Florida.  After the death of her husband, she continued to spend winters in the Park of the Pines, with her daughter joining her in 2010 as her caregiver.

Married July 05, 1941, to Raymond I. Doe, son of Wilfred I. and Marion (Bradbury) Doe of Summerville Massachusetts.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Raymond I. Doe of Shapleigh Maine, her son Wilfred I. Doe of Dowling Park Florida, her sister Patricia A. Belmont of Sanford Maine, and her brother Joseph "Sandy" Sanders of Sutter Creek California.

She is survived by her daughter RuthAnne Doe of Scarborough Maine and her sister-in-law Betsy Sanders of Sutter Creek California.

Three grandchildren – Margaret A. O'Rourke of Glen Burnie Maryland, Marion D. (Andrew) Terry of Sturbridge Massachusetts, and Nathan W. Doe of Florida.

Nine great-grandchildren – Brittany (Hertzog) Thompson (Trevor) of Ravenswood West Virginia, Brandon (Kayla) Hertzog of Hanover Pennsylvania, Katelyn (Hertzog) McIntosh (Nate) of Glen Burnie Maryland, Annika Terry of Sturbridge Massachusetts, and Jodie Terry of Sturbridge Massachusetts, Lily Doe, Paige Doe, Olivia Doe, and Cody Doe of Florida, and two bonus great-grandchildren Erin (O'Rourke) Drexel (Brittney) of Pasadena Maryland, and Ryan T. O'Rourke of Glen Burnie Maryland.

Four great-great-grandchildren – Brynleigh and Cale Thompson of Ravenswood West Virginia, Emmalyn Hertzog of Hanover Pennsylvania, and Noah Andrews of Deltona Florida.

Many nieces and nephews, sharing a special relationship with her sister's children Ralph, Robyn, and David Belmont.

She loved music with Southern Gospel being her favorite.  She was a member of the Women's Fellowship at First Congregational Church in Scarborough.  She spent many hours crafting for the Christmas Fair.  Her Santa Claus faces painted on mussel shells for the fair were a favorite.  She loved to sew and made many "Humpty Dumpty" dolls for all of her grandchildren and other special children.

She cherished the family home on Square Pond in Shapleigh spending time with loved ones on the lake while enjoying campfires and watching the little ones learn to swim.

As she and her husband aged and their health declined they found the Maine winters to be more difficult and found a winter home at the Advent Christian Village in Dowling Park Florida where they could spend time with extended family.  It was a wonderful place to live as it was handicap accessible and they could take part in many activities.  She made close friends and enjoyed celebrating "High Tea" with them.  Two of her special friends were Ernestine Brannan and Lillian Shuman.

Irvine will be laid to rest beside her husband in the family plot at Highland Grove Cemetery in Shapleigh Maine.
