James Jones, 77, of Scarborough Maine passed away peacefully at home on March 18, 2023 at his home with his wife by his side after a long battle with cancer.

James was born in Miami, Florida on August 20, 1945.  He was the son of the late Robert and Mary Jones.  He spent his school years in Tatamy, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from Nazareth High School in 1963 and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served during the Vietnam War.

On December 2, 1967 he married Paula Arbo of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  They moved to Scarborough, Maine and started Jones Express, a family run trucking company which is still in operation after 40 years.

James had a passion for life.  He loved the outdoors-hiking, camping, boating, target shooting, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and with his wonderful wife of 55 years.

He is predeceased by his parents, and is survived by his wife Paula, his son Jamey and wife Christine of Scarborough, his daughter Jennifer and husband Gary of Scarborough, and six grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister Roberta Carlson of California and brother John Jones of Florida.

A memorial service will be held Saturday March 25, 2023 at 9:30 am at St. Maximillian Kolbe Church in Scarborough.
