Janet Mary Bockus age 89 passed away peacefully on July 5, 2022 at the Scarborough Maine Veteran's Home.  Janet was born in Flushing, NY to Frank and Mary Lidstone on June 17, 1933.  She graduated from Houghton College in May, 1956.  She met Harold in June of 1956 and they married on June 8, 1957.  They soon started their family and had 3 children, Steve, Sharon and Judy.

Their Christian journey started in Collinsville, IL, while Harold was finishing Bible College. They were active in church ministries in the St. Louis area for 8 years. Then, they felt the Lord leading them to start a Christian ministry in Lancaster NH.  Three years later, they felt the Lord leading them again to operate the Bangor Rescue Mission in Maine.  She served the Lord faithfully and helped lead many souls to a saving knowledge of her Lord and Savior.   They stayed active in local church ministries. She enjoyed reading her bible, doing crossword puzzles and visiting with family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Harold, two sisters Allison and Virginia and her brother Peter. She is survived by her brother Alan Lidstone, her children Steve (Diane) Bockus, Sharon Bockus, Judy (Neal) Farwell, grandchildren Danielle Bockus, Carissa Farwell, Jared (Melina) Farwell, great-grandchildren Neal, Logan, Naomi, Hannah.

A celebration of life will be held on July 30 ^th at West Buxton Baptist Church, 62 Parker Farm Road Buxton ME at 3:30 with an ice cream social to follow.  Visiting hours will be from 2:00-3:30 prior to the celebration of life.

Burial will be held on Thursday, July 28 at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery in Augusta.  Please contact Judy at 415-9720 for details if you wish to attend.
