Janice Ruth
Connors
Jan 5, 1937 — Nov 21, 2024
Saco
Janice Ruth Connors, 87, of Saco, Maine, passed away on November 21, 2024. Janice was born in Portland, Maine on January 5, 1937, a daughter of Mary Agnes McCarthy (Johnson) and Fred James Johnson.
She attended Catherine McAuley High School in Portland Maine and graduated at the top of her class. After graduating she worked as an accountant/bookkeeper for Portland Distributors.
On April 24, 1958, she married the love of her life, Henry Connors Jr., with whom she spent 65 beautiful years.
Janice's focus in life was being the best mother that she could be. She was a guiding light for all her family and a source of endless love and happiness. She was the center of our family circle.
She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family. Her smile was beautiful and her laugh was infectious. "Love You More" and "Love you to the Moon and Back" were two of her expressions.
She enjoyed many hobbies over the years, one of her favorites being a day spent at the ocean, sun on her face, toes in the sand, swimming in the waves, surrounded by family and friends.
For years, she raised show quality rabbits and managed the accounting and registrations for the rabbit breeder's association. You could often find her in the kitchen, baking her prize recipes like apple pie, whoopie pies, rhubarb coffee cake and many others. She grew beautiful gardens, preserving much of the bounty, including her famous stewed tomatoes. Another of her passions was reading a good book and sharing them with her family. And let us not forget her passion for word puzzles and true crime shows.
Janice was preceded in death by, her loving husband Henry Connors Jr.; parents Mary Agnes Johnson and Fred James Johnson; brother Frederick James Johnson; daughter Jeanine Tito (Connors), and granddaughter Amanda Rose Connors.
She is survived by her brother Lloyd Johnson and his wife, Pat of Portland, ME; son Anthony and his wife Deb of Gorham, ME; son Mark and his wife Sue of Monson, ME; daughter Christine Permenter (Connors) and her husband Kevin of North Berwick, ME; son Daniel and his wife Sugar of Alton, NH; granddaughter Alicia Chiuchiolo and husband Antonio of Gilbert, AZ; granddaughter Andrea Connors of East Weymouth, MA; granddaughter Jessica Picard and her husband Normand of Lyman, ME; granddaughter Becky Connors and her partner Adam Moody of Parsonsfield, ME; granddaughter Erica Kelly and her husband Mikey of North Waterboro, ME; granddaughter Laura Cope and her husband Mason of Passadumkeag, ME; grandson Ryan Roets of Biddeford, ME; granddaughter Allison Roets and her partner Cole of Biddeford, ME; grandson Tyler Connors and his wife Taylor of Portland ME; grandson Cody and his wife Delaney of Old Orchard Beach ME; grandson Brady Connors of Limerick ME as well as 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, both here in Maine and in FL.
