Jeffrey Dean Yankowsky, 61, of Scarborough, Maine, passed away on October 6, 2024, at home after a long illness. Born on July 19, 1963, in Westbrook, he was the son of Gladys Landry Yankowsky and the late Anthony Yankowsky.
Jeff graduated from Portland High School in 1981 and built a respected career as a certified HVAC technician, plumber, project manager and mechanical estimator. In recent years, he transitioned to working as a handyman, where he applied his broad skill set to carpentry and various household repairs.
Known for his great sense of humor and willingness to lend a hand, Jeff was a jack of all trades. His interests were as varied as his skills, including hunting, fishing, boating, gardening, and photography. He was also an avid cook who especially loved grilling.
Jeff is survived by his mother, Gladys; brother, Anthony Yankowsky Jr. and his wife Julie Rogers Yankowsky; sister, Tiffany Yankowsky; partner, Meg Poulin; son, Matthew Yankowsky; and grandson, Vincent Yankowsky. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Yankowsky, and sister, Sherry Moulton Yankowsky.
Visitation will be held at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 US Route One, Scarborough, Maine, on Sunday, October 13th, 2024 with visiting hours from 12pm to 2pm, followed by a brief service and reception.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org. Hobbs Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Jeff's legacy of kindness, humor, and helpfulness will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
