LEWISTON – John Randolph Sawyer, 59, passed away at his residence in Lewiston on September 14, 2022.

John was born on April 25, 1963 at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, the son of John Perlie Sawyer and Charlene Davis Gendreau. He attended schools in Bath and Freeport, graduating from Freeport High School in 1982. After high school, John joined the U.S. Army and served for eight years. He was an avid reader of science fiction novels. He enjoyed building with Legos.

John is survived by his parents, and his stepfather, John Gendreau of South Portland; two brothers, Thomas Sawyer and his wife Jody of Gray, and Charles Sawyer of South Portland.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Highland Memorial Cemetery in South Portland.
