Obituary

John E. Sikora, 70 of Saco, Maine passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Maine Medical Center, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, after a brief illness. John was born on January 24, 1954 in Chicago, IL. He received his BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of Southern California, which led him to pursue a lifetime career in sales.

In 2013 John married the love of his life, Trish, at Portland Headlight on a picturesque day in August. Following their wedding, John and Trish resided in Illinois for several years. The highlight of John's life was moving to Maine in 2019. John was a stepfather to two sons and a daughter, and later a step-grandfather to a grandson and granddaughter, for whom he had great love for.

John enjoyed golf but his true passion was fishing. A few years ago, he purchased a boat to cruise and fish the Saco River where he enjoyed spending time with his local fishing buddies trying to catch "the big one". When not in his boat, he was paddling and fishing in his kayak at his favorite fishing spot at Robert's Pond.

John recently told Trish that he wished he had moved to Maine sooner. His current occupation with NFIB gave him the opportunity while working to travel through Maine admiring spectacular views of our state and the many lakes he hoped to fish one day.

John was a devout Christian throughout his life and was honored and proud to be a Deacon at Seacoast Chapel in Saco, Maine.

John is survived by his wife, Trish, brother, Edward Sikora (Tammy), sister, Marilyn Ladone, brother-in-law, Ronald Wonderling, several nieces and nephews, step children, Ryan Mitchell (Trisha), Devin Mitchell, Darcy Celeste (Dave), and step grandchildren, Owen and Aubree Celeste. John was predeceased by his parents, John and Lillian Sikora, sister, Susan Wonderling and brother-in-law, Joseph Ladone, DDS.

John's services will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 as follows: Visitation 9am-10:30am, Funeral Service 10:30am-11:30am, Reception 11:30am-1:00pm – all at Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland. Burial will immediately follow at Black Point Cemetery, Scarborough.

Trish and her family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of prayers and love.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in John's name to Seacoast Chapel, 228 Buxton Rd., Saco, Maine, 04072.
