Obituary

Joseph Eugene Silva (Joey), 74, of Scarborough, unexpectedly went home to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday Afternoon November 5TH, 2022 in his favorite hunting spot doing what he loves with two of his sons, grandson and close family friend.

Joey was born September 12th, 1948 in Portland, Maine to Joseph Silva Jr. and Eleanor Silva. He graduated from Westbrook HS in 1967. Joey was enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a Helmsman of the USS Raleigh and the USS Daly and worked for 40 plus years at KADY International as a Machine Designer/Draftsman. He faithfully attended St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church.

Joey was known for his love of hunting/fishing, riding his Harley Davidson to Laconia Bike Week and the Toy Run, time with his family at Sebago Lake & hiking Douglas Hill, Foliage trips, Holidays with family, and years of coaching and volunteering numerous sports. Joey had a love for flashlights, hats, cars, and listening to the oldies. He enjoyed Saturday nights with his beautiful wife going to Pat's, DiMillo's, Becky's Diner and the Clambake. He loved talking to people, whether he knew them or not. And often would leave a stranger as a friend. Most of all, he was a family man and did whatever he needed to make sure that his family had whatever they needed.

Joey was survived by his beloved wife of 50 years- Carol Silva and their seven children- Heather & Brian Stephen and their children- Allyson, Jack & Molly of Windham, ME. Joseph Jay & Angela Silva of North Waterboro, ME. Casey & Lauren Silva and their children- Aven and Lily of Hollis, ME. Andy & Angie Silva and their children- Amelia and Thomas of Sebago, ME.
