Obituary

STANDISH - Linda Anne (Brady) Karantza of Standish, Maine, formerly of South Portland, passed into paradise surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle against breast cancer on January 3, 2023.

Born in Portland to Lawrence Brady and Helen June (Stoddard) Brady on September 23, 1956, she attended South Portland schools, graduating from South Portland High School Class of 1974.

She married John Karantza on August 23, 1975. They were married for 47 years.

Linda was employed by Shaw's Supermarkets (Millcreek, South Portland) for 18 years, and then worked for Anthem for another 18 years. Upon retirement she enjoyed her time on the beach at Ward's Cove on Sebago Lake where she grew up and was always surrounded by many close friends and family. Her biggest love was Walt Disney World specifically Mickey Mouse.

She is predeceased by her father, and her brother Lance Brady. She is survived by her husband John; her mother Helen June (Brady) Reynolds of Steep Falls; siblings Lea Brady of Steep Falls, Lynn (Lisa) Brady of Scarborough, and Lori (Rick) Perruzzi of Tampa, Florida; her daughters Ami Karantza of Sanford and her children Deo and Zander, and Andrea (David) Fournier of Westbrook and their children Alexis, Brayden and Bailey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her very, very much.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Southern Maine for their loving comfort and care during this difficult time. A special thank you to Dana and Debbie Lawrence for their kindness, support and love.

Visiting hours will be at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, with funeral services at Hobbs on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Brooklawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Portland, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the American Cancer Association.
