Louis H. "Babe" Morneault, aged 90, of Scarborough, Maine, passed away on October 12, 2024. Born on May 19, 1934, Babe was a man who dedicated his life to service, community, and family.
Babe's early education was completed at John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine, after which he attended Wentworth Institute in Boston, furthering his education and paving the way for a life of leadership and service. He honorably served in the Army for two years, where he gained experiences that would influence his approach to community engagement.
Babe was the owner of Van Buren Motors. His commitment to community development extended through his roles as the Director of Community Development for the towns of Van Buren and Grand Isle, and as Director of the Van Buren Light and Water District. His efforts in these roles left a lasting impact on the community, enhancing the lives of many.
Babe was a beacon of kindness and generosity, always ready to lend a hand. His Christian faith was evident in his actions, and he was a blessing to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; his children, Care, Janet, and Dr. Kevin; and his grandchildren, Addie, Ben, Matt, and Beatrice. He also leaves behind his brother, Sylvio James "Bidou." Babe was preceded in death by his parents, Henry D. Morneault and Louise Thibodeau, and his siblings Angelo, Adrian, Camille, Bertha, Leo, Annette, Emilien, Patrick, and Jeanine.
