Obituary

SCARBOROUGH – Louise E (Pooler) Kelly, 91, of Scarborough, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2024.
She was born on August 8, 1932, in Scarborough, ME, the daughter of Percy and Gladys Pooler. Louise met her late husband, William E. Kelly and they married on May 26, 1951. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed her family, serving her church, and gardening. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling and watching her grandchildren play sports. Louise graduated fourth in her class from Scarborough High School in 1950. She was class treasurer ; delegate for the 4-H Club; choir; and manager of the girls basketball team. During high school, she was awarded the Daughters of American Revolution Good Citizen Pilgrimage.
Throughout the years, Louise worked for Union Mutual, shucked clams, retail stores (Mammoth Mart, Kings, and Toys-R-Us), as well as her favorite job at Snow's Canning. After her retirement, she and her husband lived in Florida for six years during the winter months. She was the longest living member of the Scarborough Free Baptist Church where she served and was involved over the years as Deacon, Financial Secretary, American Baptist Women, White Cross, and Choir.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, William E. Kelly; brothers Arthur, Linwood, Franklin and sister Calista. She is survived by her children Ronald Kelly of Scarborough, Kerry (George) Bertalan of Gorham, Kevin (Nancy) Kelly of Bridgton, Rosanne Francoeur of Scarborough; five grandchildren, Sean Kelly, Sarah (Matt) Coburn, Michael (Lyn) Francoeur, Krista (Christopher) Ryall, Nicolas (Jenny) Francoeur; three great-grandchildren, Jerret Coburn, Dash Coburn, and Mia Francoeur; brothers George and John; sisters Glenna and Ruth; along with many loving family and friends.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday, April 11 at 10-11 a.m. at the Scarborough Free Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. A private burial will be held at a later date. Arrangement made by Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route One, Scarborough.
