Gorham – Margaret T. Goggin 94, formerly of Old Orchard Beach died Monday, May 8, 2023, in Gorham.
Margaret was born in Portland, Maine, the daughter of Douglass and Mary "Gillis" Gorman. She was a graduate of South Portland High School class of 1947. She went on to Northeast Business School for 1 year.
Margaret worked in the Vehicle Finance Credit Department for 30 years with GMAC, retiring in 1982.
Margaret married William Goggin on November 20, 1971.
In the 1970's she moved to Yarmouth, Maine where she was a communicant at First Universalist Church.
She was a member of the Pythian Sisters for 45 years and the Calico Quilters of Yarmouth. She donated most of her quilting materials to Project Linus
Margaret is predeceased by her husband William G. Goggin in 2020, 2 stepsons Richard Goggin and Kenneth Goggin, 3 brothers Douglas Gorman and his wife Carolyn, Philip Gorman and his wife Ann and James Gorman , brother-in-law Hubert Goggin of Pittston, Maine
Margaret is survived by her son Kenneth Collar and wife Vickie of Summerfield, Florida, Stepson Chester Goggin of Freeport, stepdaughter Donna Goggin of Waterville, Maine, one brother Richard Gorman and wife Linda of Sanford, sister-in-law Mariltn Gorman of North New Portland, 3 grandchildren Jesse Campbell and husband Michael of Scarborough, Katie Hadiaris and husband Chad of Saco, Michael Collar of Old Orchard, 2 step grandchildren Joel Goggin, Thomas Stevens and wife Sharon, 7 Great Grandsons Brody and Bennett Hadiaris, Evan Campbell, Christopher and Zachary Goggin, Benjamin and Luke Stevens along with several nieces, nephews and loving friends.
The family would like to thank the staff and Doctors at the Gorham House for their wonderful and loving care and special thanks to Hospice of Southern Maine, especially to Ann Daley who visited her weekly. Peggy looked forward to her visits.
Visiting hours will be held from 10-noon Friday, 12 th at the Hobbs Funeral Home 671 US Rte. One Scarborough, Maine 04074. Interment at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta will be June 16 th at 1PM.
