Obituary

Marjorie Louse Dunham of Cape Elizabeth, July 7, 1934 to November 3, 2024. Marjorie passed away peacefully at Cove's Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta after a long illness. She grew up living on the Sprague Estates, Ram Island Farm in Cape Elizabeth and lived what she described as a "magical childhood". She graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and Gray's Portland Business College. Marjorie worked for WCSH television and wrote commercials, was a stage manager for Romper Room and other TV shows on that network. She was a secretary for the Headmaster of Waynflete School in Portland, and worked in the business office at S.D Warren in Westbrook. She was an avid photographer, she photographed local weddings and other events and created a collection of her candid portraits of famous people. She was a secretary for TriAd an organization which connects the elderly, State Police and Local Police and a volunteer at the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook. Marjorie had many interests including, photography, animals, old movies, gardens, architecture, the Great American West, and her friends and family.

She is predeceased by her parents, Marjorie and Linwood Dunham of Cape Elizabeth, Brother Lawrence Wing of Portland, and sister Dorothy F. Ray of South Portland.

Marjorie is survived by niece Frances Hewins, of South Bristol, nephews Tallman Doughty of Cape Elizabeth and Mark Doughty of Gorham and many grand nieces and nephews.

As an aunt she took her nieces and nephews on many memorable adventures, including rodeos and Cinerama in Boston, and was well remembered for the almost weekly Oreo cookies and ice cream which she brought when she came to visit.

She will be greatly missed.
