Mary Patricia
Becker
May 29, 1930 — Feb 9, 2026
Mary Patricia Becker (Crocker) was born in Yarmouth NS on May 29, 1930, to the late Margaret and Clifford Crocker. She graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville NS in 1950 and spent one year working in Montreal for the largest law firm in the British Empire at the time. After that she worked for the Provincial Government of Nova Scotia. During this time she met John Becker when he was vacationing in Nova Scotia. They were married in 1960 in Halifax NS then settled in Princeton, NJ. After the arrival of their son Peter and daughter Gretchen, the family moved to Sudbury, MA in 1965. Pat, as her friends called her, was active as a volunteer at Peter and Gretchen's schools as well as an avid tennis player at the Sudbury Swim and Tennis Club. Pat made lifelong friends while living in Sudbury before moving to Maine in 1998 to be closer to her son and grandchildren. Her husband passed away in 2009 and shortly thereafter she moved to Piper Shores in Scarborough where she spent the remaining years of her life. Pat loved living at Piper Shores and truly appreciated the wonderful staff who took good care of her while she was living there.
She is predeceased by sisters Betty Spencer and JoAnne Cruddas and brothers Donald and Clifford Crocker. Pat is survived by her son Peter, daughter Gretchen, Peter's wife Stephanie, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
