Matthew T. Bryant, 60, of Buxton passed away on September 19, 2026, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born in Portland and grew up in South Portland where he attended South Portland schools.

Matt made a lasting impression on everyone, fortunate enough to know him. Gregarious, generous, and genuine, he had a way of making you feel welcome and cared for. Although he was a private person, those that knew him knew the depth of his heart. He never dwelled on the negative. Instead, he moved forward, found a way to help, and was always there when someone needed him.

Matt was predeceased by his parents, Shirley “Mike” Bryant and Grace Matthews Bryant, his brother, Michael R. Bryant; his cousin Phil Matthews, and his dear friend Brandon Bennett.

His greatest joy was the people he loved. He is survived by his devoted girlfriend, Stacie Plummer, who was his grounding and calming force and his partner through life’s great joys and hardest moments. He held Stacie’s children, Alex Anderson, Mikala Plummer and her boyfriend, Hunter Grela, and Gavin Plummer, close to his heart and loved them beyond words. He also adored the “boys’, their beloved dogs, Denver and Dom, who brought him constant companionship and joy.

Matt’s generosity knew no bounds. If someone needed help with a computer, Matt was there. If a driveway needed to be plowed, Matt was there. If someone he cared about needed anything at all, he found a way to help. If you meant something to Matt, you knew it.

His career started at Sappi paper mill and ended as Director of Service and Delivery for Kyocera Document Solutions America. His time with Kyocera was meaningful and purposeful to him. He took pride in his work and making things happen, perhaps even more importantly, in the relationships he built along the way.

One of Matt’s greatest passions was riding his motorcycle. Whether it was a simple lunch ride or an adventure to South Dakota, with best friends Mike and Kathy Leclerc, who were family in every sense of the word, he loved every mile, every road, and every opportunity to share the ride.

Matt leaves behind a sister, Pamela Flanders, a sister-in-law Cherie Bryant, and many special nieces and nephews. Beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, and countless dear friends and clients who were truly like family to him.

Matt faced a relatively brief but very challenging fight with pancreatic cancer with remarkable courage and determination. True to who he was, he called all his own shots and remained steadfast in making his own decisions throughout his illness. His family is deeply grateful to Matt’s incredible neighbors as well as his niece and nephew (niece’s husband) Michelle and Walter for the love, support, and friendship they gave Matt and Stacie during this difficult time.

A celebration of life will be held on October 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. at River Winds Farm and Estate, 121 Louden Road Saco, ME, 04072.
