Nancy Ann Davis Jack, 88, passed away on July 23, 2024, in Scarborough, Maine. Born to Doris and Charles Davis on February 10, 1936, in Metuchen, New Jersey, she was a beacon of light and warmth.
Nancy was a member of the Davis family, one of six children including Gloria Greninger, Carolyn Smith, David Davis, Ruby Trouw, and Charles Davis, Jr.
In 1958, she married Russell Jack, Jr. marking the beginning of a shared life filled with love, adventure and devotion for 45 years.
A graduate of Glassboro State Teachers College in Glassboro, NJ, Nancy dedicated her life to education.
For over 30 years, she was a revered first grade teacher at Hallowell Elementary School, where her passion for education left an indelible mark on her students.
Nancy's love extended to her three children, Laura Jack Farr, Pamela Jack, and Timothy Jack, who remember her as a nurturing soul, always ready with a comforting word or an engaging story. Her seven grandchildren, Matthew Farr, Ryan Polhemus, Dara-Michelle Farr, Meredith Arlyn Foster, Taylor Jack, Brian Jack and Lauren Jack will carry her legacy of kindness and joy. Nancy has one great grandchild, Dorothy Jack Foster.
An avid gardener, master of jigsaw puzzles, and a keen bird watcher, Nancy also graced many with her vocal talent in various church choirs, including Old South Congregational Church in Hallowell, Maine and the Angels at Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach, North Carolina. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Delta Kappa Gamma, board member of the Seaside United Methodist Pre-School Program and volunteered tutoring students after she retired.
Nancy's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her children, grandchildren, and community church that was better for her presence. Nancy will be profoundly missed, but her spirit and ready smile will continue to guide and inspire all who were privileged to know her.
