Parker Roger Conner of Scarborough, Maine passed away quietly and peacefully at home with his wife by his side on March 20, 2026 at the age of 77. Parker was born November 25, 1948 in Rumford, Maine. He grew up in Bethel, Maine and graduated from Gould Academy in 1967. In 1968, during the Viet Nam War he enlisted in the Army, spending most of his time in Germany. He was a member of The American Legion and Fraternal Order of the Eagles. His military training began his career as a medical professional, first as an LPN and later, after graduating from Central Maine General School of Nursing in 1976, as an RN. His 41 year medical career at Maine Medical Center took him to units in Cardiology, Interventional Radiology and primarily Post Anesthesia Care Unit (recovery room) at Maine Medical Center and their affiliated Surgery Center in Scarborough where he ultimately retired in 2013.

In his earlier years he enjoyed snowmobiling and hunting with the guys at the camp in Bingham where he successfully got a deer – a 10 pointer. In latter years his pleasure at home came from his birds and the fox family that annually lived under the shed. His peace came with his many times with family at Brandy Pond and Long Lake, especially cruising the lakes in his boat, dumping family members off the tube, buying treats off the ice cream boat as it made its rounds, or just relaxing in the water at the sandbar. He especially loved fishing with Kayden, his great nephew.

He is predeceased by his mother, Majorie Pickering Conner Witter, his father, Harold Parker Conner, his step father, John Witter, all from Bethel, Maine. His is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joleen Bell Conner and son, Chad Conner both of Scarborough. He has two sisters, Esther Desjardins and her husband, Daniel of Poland, Maine and Elaine Hutchins and her husband, Jeff of Gilead, Maine and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, followed by a reception at the funeral home.
