Patricia ("Pat") Louisa Foss, age 72 of Auburn, Maine, went to meet her Lord on February 29, 2024. Proud to be born on the Fourth of July (1952), she was the daughter of the late Dr. Rodney Ham and Mary Lou (Roney) Foss. Born in Boston Massachusetts, she grew up in Winchester Massachusetts, South Carolina, New Hampshire and Maine, graduating from Cape Elizabeth High School. She went on to graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in psychology. She later attended graduate school at University of Southern Maine.

Pat was an avid photographer, skier, surfer and swimmer. She had a passion for all animals, especially cats, and a passion for flowers, especially flower and vegetable gardening. She was a loyal member of the Catholic Church. Pat loved traveling and traveled throughout Europe. Pat was married twice- an ex husband from years ago, and then the love of her life, John Kenneth Bires, a former  Vietnam veteran. Pat and John had a wonderful life doing everything together until he passed in 2021.

She is survived by her sister, Kathie C. Foss, of Wilmington , Delaware, cousins Susan, Jonathan, Ellen and Arthur Chapman, all of Maine, a wonderful sister in law, Sara Brown of Scarborough, loyal step-son Chris Bires of Maine, and all her cherished friends from Bolster Street.

She will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland Maine. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
