PATRICIA ANN GRADY BURNS
10 October 1952 to 23 May 2025
Patricia, also known as Patty, Patrish and Aunty Patty, left this physical world after a long illness in South Portland, Maine. She was preceded in death by both of her parents Mary (O'Donnell) Grady and John "Jack" Grady of Manchester, New Hampshire, her sister Kathleen Corey of Candia NH, her husband Art Burns and many beloved feline friends. She is survived by her sister Ruth, and Ruthie's husband Vaughn, of southern Maine, her nieces, Mariah and her family of Northern Vermont, and Bridget and her family of northern Maine, as well as numerous cousins, friends, and loved ones, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Patty's life started in Manchester NH where she attended Catholic schools, including Sacred Heart School of Nursing and made many lifelong friends. She worked at the VA hospital. She met and married Arthur Burns and they eventually moved to Florida. She loved Arthur's children deeply.
She worked at Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, Fl and completed her education to become an R.N. Patty was a very committed and compassionate Oncology Nurse.
After Art's untimely death in 1997 and her father's in 1999, she moved back to NH to care for her mother until her death in 2012. Patty then moved to Maine to be able to spend more time with her sister and her family and enjoyed being near the ocean and eating loads of fried clams.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. In memory of Patty, please enjoy some seafood this summer. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local animal refuge league. Although Patricia is no longer physically present with us, she will live in all of our hearts and our memories. May we honor her everyday with random acts of kindness.
