Paula Jane Roberts passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, at Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth.  She was 79 years old.  Paula was born in Sanford on December 20, 1945, to John A. Roberts and Virginia Hezelton Roberts of Alfred.

Paula was a graduate of Sanford High School Class of 1964.  She continued her studies, earning an associate's degree from Husson College in Bangor and a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Maine.  Following her college education, Paula worked in the medical field in Portland and retired after 30 years working for cardiologist Dr. Edward Greco.  Upon her retirement from fulltime work, she continued parttime at Nellie's Tearoom in Scarborough and volunteered several summers in the gift shop at the Portland Headlight.

She enjoyed many, varied hobbies, including gardening, cooking, needlepoint, or reading a good book while cuddling up with her cat. Paula especially loved spending many hours quilting, and several of the quilted and needlepoint items she created are still treasured by family members. She also enjoyed picnics by the ocean and traveling extensively in her younger adult years.

Paula was predeceased by both of her parents, a stepbrother Thomas Nutter and stepsister Patricia Leighton.  She is survived by brothers John (Randy) Roberts of California, and brother Jeffrey Roberts and wife Patricia of Waterboro, stepsister Sally Carpenter and husband Clifton of Minnesota and Florida, and nieces and one nephew.

The family would like to thank the staff of Cape Memory Care in Cape Elizabeth for their wonderful care of Paula during her final two years of life.  A private service will be held by the family in the spring.
