Peter was born in Portland, Maine on November 11, 1972 to Joseph H. and Katherine F. Abbadessa. He grew up and attended schools in Cape Elizabeth, where he graduated in 1991. He also attended Riverview School in East Sandwich, Mass.
For many of his adult years Peter was an involved member of the Amistad Community, participating in their many events and activities. Peter also loved spending time with his immediate and extended families, whether it was at gatherings, celebrations, the annual family Seadogs game or interacting with his many online dee jay colleagues. A great lover of music, especially the 80's genre, he so enjoyed his time on air. An avid cribbage player, Peter loved any opportunity to play a game and was all the more enthralled if he could roust up participants to have a game of Monopoly. Also, a passionate Red Sox fan, Pete loved the game of baseball watching it live or playing online.
Although Peter struggled with many health challenges, he always had an upbeat, positive outlook and was a caring, invested friend to all. Peter's family would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to all of his medical care givers over these many years. Your dedication will be forever appreciated.
Peter is survived by his mother Katherine, sister Christina Schlehuber (husband Harlan), nephew Christopher Waterhouse, niece Kayla Waterhouse, many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 4th at 11 am at Hobbs Funeral Home, 671 US Rt 1, Scarborough, Maine. Burial will immediately follow at Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Cape Elizabeth.
